Western & Northeastern New York: Highmark

Please follow the Enrollment Instructions below to become an electronic submitter to New York Blue Cross Blue Shield Highmark. This is specifically for Payer IDs: 00301, 00801, 00800, and 55204.

Required Enrollment for those applying for new Submitter ID's

The following process is required prior to initiation of electronic claims submission or inquiry to Highmark.

1. Online Trading Partner Agreement
Please click this link to get to their Sign-Up page: https://edi.highmark.com/edi-ny/home/sign-up then scroll down and click the link that says, "Click here to get started with the Application".

We can now process 276/277 requests (claim status). If this is a transaction you would like to utilize, please make sure to enroll with the payer.

Online EDI Enrollment Form

Section 1: Administrator Information

  • Enter your name and title
  • Enter your Business/Practice or Provider name
  • Enter your phone number
  • Enter your e-mail address
  • Select then answer your security question

Section 2: Delegate Information

(A "Delegate" is a representative of your company that you're listing as an authorized contact with Highmark. This section is optional; however, it is recommended to have at least one additional authorized contact as a backup.)

  • Enter your delegates name and title
  • Enter their phone number
  • Enter their email address
  • Repeat process for an additional delegate if desired

Section 3: Trading Partner Information

  • Enter your company name
  • Enter your address
  • Enter your phone number
  • Enter your e-mail address
  • Enter your Tax ID

Section 4: Trading Partner Type

  • Select the appropriate option for your organization
  • (Professional Provider's bill on a CMS 1500 and Institutional Providers bill on a UB 04)

Section 5: Software Vendor Information

  • For Software Vendor enter the information for the software or vendor that creates your 837 files you need ClaimShuttle to transfer for you. If you have paid for our SolAce billing software, please call our support line for our SolAce software information.

Section 6: Additional Comments

  • You may skip this section

Section 6: Acceptance and Submission

  • Check the box then click the link for the Highmark EDI Trading Partner Agreement
  • Press Submit

Waiting for a Response

Once the online application has been received, Highmark EDI Operations will review and validate your submitted application. Please keep in mind that submitting complete and accurate information will ensure that your application is processed in a timely manner.

Upon successful validation, the following information will be sent via secure email to the Trading Partner Administrator:

  • Trading Partner ID
  • Login ID ("V" login)
  • Login Password
  • Written authorization for the trading partner to submit production EDI transactions

Testing and Mailbox Setup

Once you have received your Trading Partner ID, Login ID, and Login Password from Highmark please call our ClaimShuttle Support Team at 602-439-2525 and set an appointment for a Mailbox Setup. Testing is not required for this Payer.
